"Windows 11", "Performance decreased" problem with some AMD chips

AMD reported that if Windows 11 is operated with hardware with the company's chips, some applications will decrease in performance.

Microsoft launched Windows 11 rollouts for mainstream users on October 5, US time.Although visually renewed, the upgrade is limited to some new PCs that meet the hardware requirements, improving security, but a time -consuming rollout.

Microsoft has been testing for participants in the Windows Insider program for one year. However, the company and AMD have revealed that installing Windows 11 on AMD -equipped processors such as "EPYC" and "Ryzen" may reduce performance by up to 15 %.

AMD explains in a support note that "3 to 5 % of the affected applications and the general game in ESPORTS will have extreme performance, 10 to 15 %."

Support notes say that this document provides information about "a specific application, an impact on a known performance reported on Windows 11" at a specific application.

According to AMD, Microsoft will deal with this issue with the Windows update scheduled for October.

Microsoft offers an updated "PC Health Check" (PC normal check) app so that users can confirm the harsh hardware requirements of Windows 11.The system requirements of Windows 11 can be confirmed on the company page.

According to a survey, the hardware requirements are severe, so about half of corporate workstations may not be able to upgrade immediately.

AMD pointed out that the delay of L3 cache could increase tripled in measurement and functional aspects.

AMD also stated that the company's "priority core" technology may not work well on Windows 11.The hardware interface is "there is a possibility that the thread is not assigned to the fastest core."In addition to some applications, gamers who use corporate organizations and high -end machines are most likely to be affected.

The noticeable decline in performance is a processor with a thermal design power (TDP) of 65W or more, which contains a popular Ryzen.

"AMD and Microsoft are vigorously investigating these known problems with software updates."
