On the sofa, REAL-T himself was sleeping. He didn't move, he didn't breathe.
30 minutes later, REAL-T wakes up and welcomes Jin Dogg. Between the two who shook hands, there was an intimacy that could not be touched.
Then, an in-depth conversation began 10 years ago about the relationship between the two, which had not been revealed until now.
Because that was the only way. These are the words that both of them said during the interview.
"Machikaze" released in 2020 by Jin Dogg feat REAL-T. Words cannot describe how shocked I was.
In 2021, the MV was released. What kind of image it will be, it easily exceeded the growing expectations.
Not limited to music, it is rare to come across works and expressions that express the shape of the person's soul.
The stance and musicality of both are completely different at first glance, but I thought that the souls of Jin Dogg and REAL-T were engraved here.
Although I sounded out an interview, it was almost useless. The environment surrounding hip-hop is noisy now, especially because the surroundings of these two people were never calm.
One night, when I sent a proposal requesting that the two of us set up a dialogue, I received a call from an unknown number within a few hours. It was a direct call from TSURU of the video team Dex Filmz, who is also acting as an agent for REAL-T.
I don't know what will happen because I don't have much time left, but I'm going to try to make it happen--About two weeks after that call, I was in Osaka.
The building is close to Ikuno Ward. The day before, I was told, "The auto-lock system is broken, so please call me when you arrive."
I was guided to a room in the building, and when I opened the door and stepped into the living room, REAL-T was sleeping.
"Don't worry, I just got back from Tokyo and I'll wake you up when it starts." Even with that being said, we just stand still.
Sorry for the lack of a photo of that moment. Because no one could press the shutter in front of the REAL-T sleeping suddenly in front of them.
At the editing studio of Dex Filmz, which I rented as a location for the interview, several people were working on video editing facing the monitor. Even if you don't like the big wooper looper tank above the stove, it stands out.
A short time later, Jin Dogg appears.
I've seen each of their live performances, but it was my first time to talk to them face-to-face.
REAL-T's voice was thin and quiet. Conversely, Jin Dogg's voice is thick and loud.
Jin Dogg is nearly 190cm tall and has a muscular build that is intimidating.
However, he is not on stage, but as rumored, he is very cheerful and has a demeanor and appearance that makes you feel more tolerant than intimidating. He is emotional and has a good laugh.
REAL-T, contrary to his behavior as an artist, praises tranquility. He's smiling, but his eyes are sharp when he's thinking about something.
“So when did you meet Takuya (REAL-T)?” Jin Dogg looked at REAl-T’s face and tried to remember that time.
"When I was about 17"
The two released "Machikaze" in 2020, but they met 10 years earlier. They call each other by their real names, "Takuya" and "Jake-kun".
Jin Dogg recalled, "I did it when hip-hop didn't even exist (laughs)." REAL-T reluctantly agrees.
