Looking at the company's YOGA Slim series, there is "Yoga Slim 750i Carbon" as a PC with a similar product name. This model is a notebook PC equipped with 11th generation Core i5/i7, 13.3-inch 2,560 x 1,600 dots (16:10) IPS liquid crystal, and weighing less than 1kg. There will probably be a sequel as well.
This is attractive in its own way, but the "YOGA Slim 760 Carbon" introduced this time is equivalent to the new model of this product line. The biggest difference is the processor and display, especially the latter is the first OLED in the YOGA Slim series, boasting a different dimension of color development from the IPS liquid crystal display. The main specifications are as follows.

The processor is equipped with Zen 3 generation Ryzen 7 5800U. With 8 cores/16 threads, the clock is 1.9 to 4.4 GHz, the cache is L2 4 MB/L3 16 MB, the TDP is 15 W, and the cTDP is 10 to 25 W, which is the highest level for the U series for mobiles. This is the machine that has been installed since the “HP Pavilion Aero 13-be” introduced earlier.
Onboard memory is 16GB/LPDDR4X-4266, and storage is equipped with 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD. Since the OS was Windows 11 Home and the version was 21H2, the update was applied and evaluated within this range.
The graphics are Radeon Graphics (8 cores) with a built-in processor, and for external output, it supports DisplayPort (USB Type-C) on the main unit and HDMI via the attached dock. The display is equipped with a glossy 14-inch OLED 2,880 x 1,800 dots (16:10). It has a screen occupancy rate of 91%, a refresh rate of 90Hz, a high brightness of 400nit, and the mass retailer model supports 10 touch points.
The network supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1, and does not have a wired LAN. The interface includes USB 3.1 Type-C x 2 (DisplayPort, USB PD compatible), USB 3.0 Type-C, 720p / Windows Hello compatible camera, and 3.5mm jack.
The web camera is equipped with an electronic privacy shutter, and the keyboard has a built-in backlight. Unfortunately, there is no SD card slot. In addition, a USB Type-C to mini D-Sub 15 pin / HDMI / USB Type-A conversion dock is included.
The size is 313 x 214.5 x 14.9 mm (width x depth x height), and the weight is about 1.1 kg. Compliant with MIL-STD-810H, color variation is cloud gray only. Built-in 4-cell lithium polymer, driving time is up to 11.6 hours.
217,470 yen on the direct sales site, but 153,186 yen when the e-coupon is applied. The HP Pavilion Aero 13-be mentioned earlier costs just over 100,000 yen depending on the timing, so although the panel size is different, most of the price difference is due to the adoption of OLED.
As a lower model, Ryzen 5 5600U (6 cores / 12 threads, 2.3-4.2 GHz) / 8GB memory configuration is also available (195,470 yen / 141,632 yen when e-coupon is applied).
Web camera on the center of the panel. It has a shutter, but since it is electronic, there is no slide cover. The screen occupancy rate is 91%, and the top and left edges are quite narrow, as you can see from the size of the 3.5mm jack, the top board is quite slim. Simple base with matte silver. Two rubber feet on the front left and right, and one rubber foot on the back. Left side with slits on the left and right. USB Type-C x 2, 3.5mm jack. The hinge opens 180 degrees on the right side. Power button, Web camera shutter switch, USB Type-CThe housing adopts light silver cloud gray. It's a simple design and pretty cool. The 14-inch model weighs 1,089 g, which is slightly over 1 kg, but it is still light enough to be easily lifted with one hand. It is also quite slim as you can see from the comparison with the 3.5mm jack. It is MIL-STD-810H compliant, so you don't have to worry about strength.
The front is equipped with a web camera in the upper center of the display. It has a privacy shutter, but since it's electronic, there's no cover for the lens.
USB Type-C x 2, 3.5mm jack on the left side, power button, web camera shutter switch, USB Type-C on the right side. If the web camera shutter switch is turned off while the camera app is running, a message indicating that there is no camera appears, so it seems that the connection has been cut off electronically.
The bottom is equipped with two rubber feet on the left and right front and one on the back. There are slits on the left and right.
The actual weight is 1,089g, the size of the AC adapter is about 55 x 55 x 28mm (same), the weight is 175g, and the output is 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 15V/3A, 20V/3.25A (65W). The attached dock has USB Type-C (for PC connection), HDMI, mini D-Sub 15 pin, and Type-A.The included AC adapter is Power Delivery compatible and measures approximately 55 x 55 x 28mm and weighs 175g. The outputs are 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 15V/3A, 20V/3.25A (65W).
The attached dock has a USB Type-C connection, and 3 ports of HDMI, mini D-Sub 15 pin, and USB Type-A can be added. The actual weight is 38g.
The 14-inch OLED display has a screen-to-body ratio of only 91%, and the top and left edges are quite narrow. The hinge can be opened 180 degrees. Brightness, contrast, viewing angle, color development, etc. are all good, and as expected. When I see this, I feel like I can't go back to a normal laptop with a liquid crystal panel.
I measured the characteristics using i1 Display Pro. The maximum brightness is 368cd/m2, which is bright. The brightness of 120cd/m2, which is said to be suitable for viewing photographs, is 156cd/m2 for -3 and 113cd/m2 for -4. Therefore, the former was used for the measurement.
The black brightness is 0cd/m2 because it is OLED. Although the linearity is a little uneven, it seems to be quite complete for a notebook PC panel of this class. In addition, the one that arrived at hand was a mass retailer model that supported 10-point touch. Of course, it can be operated normally, and this is convenient if it is this.
Measurement result 1. White point and black luminance measurement result 2. Linearity of R/G/BThe keyboard is an isolation type without a numeric keypad, and in addition to off/auto, it is equipped with a backlight that can adjust the brightness in two steps. The feeling of keystroke has a reasonable stroke and click feeling, which I personally like.
There may be individual differences, but it's a little hard to see the key tops being silver. The key pitch of the main keys is about 18mm. It is a pity that the surroundings of "¥", "Backspace", and "Enter" keys are cramped.
The touchpad is a single plate type with no physical buttons. Sufficient area is secured, including the palm rest, making it easy to handle.
Ailation type without numeric keypad. However, the placement around the Enter key is cramped. Equipped with speakers on the left and right, the touch pad is a single plate type key pitch is about 18 mm off / auto, and keyboard backlight with 2 levels of brightnessdid not become As for heat generation, when a load such as a benchmark test is applied, the space above the keyboard becomes slightly warm, but there is no problem here.
Since there are speakers on the left and right sides of the keyboard, the sound reaches your ears directly and is very clear. Because there is no speaker on the back, the sound is uniform and easy to hear regardless of the installation location.
The web camera is of normal quality after a quick test. I was worried that the white balance would fluctuate a little, but if it's a web conference that doesn't care about image quality, it should be fine. In this area, the front camera of an inexpensive smartphone has a better image, so I would like you to do something about it in general, not just this unit.
As an aside, the notebook PC that I personally want this year is equipped with a Core i5/i7 or Zen 3 (Apple M1 is also acceptable) class performance, a display size of 13.3 to 14 inches, and an aspect ratio. A model that is longer than the 16:10 ratio and preferably uses OLED. In addition, the weight of less than 1 kg (acceptable if it exceeds several tens of grams) and the presence of a keyboard backlight are also conditions, but this machine suddenly hit the beginning of the year. It's still January, so it won't be purchased early, but it became one of the candidates.
