Find out the reason why Wi-Fi slows down and the solution

Solution 1: contact the supplier or connect to the supplier's website to check if the line is faulty or construction is in progress nearby

If it is due to the construction caused by the supplier's line failure and maintenance, it will be eliminated over time, so please wait.

In addition, recently, we will remotely diagnose our own ONU/Wi-Fi router from the supplier. Therefore, if the ONU/Wi-Fi router finds a failure, please swap.

In particular, if there is no failure on the vendor side and the ONU/Wi-Fi router is normal, the line itself may slow down, try the following methods:

Solution 2: confirm that you are connected through IPv6

IPv6 is the latest communication standard. In the past, the IPv4 standard was the mainstream, IP addresses (addresses on the Internet are the same thing. There are fewer vacancies assigned to each device connected to the Internet, so what is newly created is IPv6. If it is an au system, it should correspond to IPv6 in advance. If you do not connect through IPv6, the vendor does not support IPv6. Because you don't want to improve, consider a change in the supplier.

However, in the case of collective housing, the building is used as a unit to sign contracts with specific professionals, and families share the line. In this case, please check with the landlord and the management company to see if you can sign the line alone. If OK, sign up with another professional manager.

Identify cause 2: confirm speed through stable Wi-Fi

If there is no problem in reason 1, there may be a problem with the Wi-Fi environment. So let's connect computers and tablets to Wi-Fi (such as Internet connections) where you know the speed is stable.

Reason 3: move the terminal close to the Wi-Fi router

If there is nothing wrong with the line and the Wi-Fi router is working, try to bring the terminal close to the Wi-Fi router.

If communication is accelerated due to proximity, try to find out reason 4.

Even if close, the communication speed is still very slow, enter the reason to find out 5.

Find out reason 4: change the location of the Wi-Fi router

If the communication speed is improved by finding out the reason 3 to make the Wi-Fi router and equipment close, it can be said that there is a problem where the Wi-Fi router is installed. So let's change the installation site of the Wi-Fi router.

Ideally, it is installed near the center of the house. Also, things that don't block the waves around (microwave ovens, metal shelves, sinks, vases, earthen walls, etc.) are important. In addition, let's put it as high as possible.

In other words, move to a place where there are no obstacles and good prospects.

If it is difficult to move the location, or if moving does not have much effect, try changing the wireless band of the connection. Recently, faster "5 GHz" connections are mainstream, but some Wi-Fi routers support "2.4 GHz" connections. The 2.4 GHz band has lower speed and response than the 5 GHz band, but it is easier to reach the range. In places where the airwaves of the Wi-Fi router are not easy to reach at home, it is also good to use 2.4GHz to connect.

Reason 5: re-examine the settings of the Wi-Fi router

If the previous project is not improved, there may be a problem with the Wi-Fi router. But I waited for a while before changing! First confirm the status of the Wi-Fi router that is currently in use.

Send output

This depends on the name of the Wi-Fi router. Many Wi-Fi routers have the ability to adjust the output of radio waves to be sent. If the output power is low, it is difficult for the radio waves to reach over a wide range. If the transport output is set low, set it to the maximum value.

Support for 5 GHz

The latest Wi-Fi routers support 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz. However, the 5 GHz band may be set to invalid. Ensure that 5 GHz is valid from the settings. If not, enable it.

Note that if you are using a Wi-Fi router that does not support 5 GHz (only 2.4 GHz), you may be able to take this opportunity to replace it with a product that supports 5 GHz.

Reason identified 6: reconsider the setting of the terminal

If the line and ONU/Wi-Fi router are working but the communication speed is slow, there may be a problem with the connected terminal. Let's confirm the following.

Applications that stop large amounts of data communication

Among the applications used on computers and smartphones, there may be applications that consume communication bandwidth. Use operating system features to check the communication status of applications and stop applications that use a lot of data communication.

Restart the terminal

When you encounter difficulties, you'd better restart it. Computers, tablets, smartphones, etc., restart first. This alone can be improved.

In addition, if it is a computer, a fundamental reset is also effective. In the case of Windows, a BIOS reset is performed, and in the case of macOS, PRAM cleanup and SMC reset are performed. Remove the cover and decoration
