Nokia has more smartphones
HMD Global, which releases Nokia brand smartphones, announced "Nokia 3.1" on October 11th. "Nokia 7.1" in September, "Nokia 6.1 Plus" and "Nokia 5.1 Plus" in August, Nokia smartphones are appearing in quick succession. If you notice, the number of smartphones announced in 2018 is 11 models. One new model appears almost every month.
Nokia's smartphone re-entry was in 2017, the first model was "Nokia 6". After that, models such as "Nokia 5" and "Nokia 8" appeared one after another with the same model numbers as the old Nokia products, with the product series name divided by numbers. Currently, Nokia smartphones are divided into 7 lines numbered 1 to 8, excluding numbers 4 and 9.
Nokia's latest smartphone is Nokia 3.1 Plus
In 2018, models with the number ".1" after the number appeared, such as the Nokia 6 successor "Nokia 6.1" and the Nokia 3 successor "Nokia 3.1". Perhaps in 2019 "Nokia 6.2" and in 2020 "Nokia 6.3" will come out. This model numbering is reminiscent of the days when Nokia changed model names in 2010 and added a number after the hyphen, like "Nokia C01-01". Since 2010, Nokia's sales have plummeted, and this model number has become rather difficult to understand.
2010 Nokia X5-01. This model number system ended in just two years
Well, if you look at Nokia smartphones in 2018 and everything is easy to understand with the number ".1", it's not. "Nokia 1" with the number "1" first appeared in February 2018. Therefore, although it is a 2018 model, there are no numbers after the decimal point. Also, the edge display model with the corners of the side of the display dropped is "Nokia 8 Sirocco" and a proper noun is attached.

Furthermore, the “Nokia 7 Plus” appeared in February, but there is no similarity in the main body design, as I thought it was the larger display model of the 2017 “Nokia 7”. It may be that the aspect ratio of the Nokia 7 is 16: 9, and the Nokia 7 Plus is 18: 9, which is also used by other companies. And in September "Nokia 7.1" appeared. The current "7" model is this Nokia 7.1 and Nokia 7 Plus, and it is difficult to understand which model is new or high performance.
When will the rumored Nokia 9 come out?
In the future, it is said that the true flagship "Nokia 9" will appear, but if it does come out, it will have eight lineups. Even Samsung Electronics, the top smartphone market share, has only five lines, "S", "Note", "A", "C", "J", and "On", and models are divided by numbers within each line. It would be nice if Nokia increased the number of products, but I would like to see the product names more clearly show the characteristics of the products.
