[May 5 AFP] The US Pentagon brings "unacceptable" security risks for products such as mobile phones manufactured by Chinese Hua Wayi (Huawei) and ZTE.The sale at the US military base was prohibited.
The ministry is increasingly concerned about the use of electronic devices for general consumers to intercept military communication and track their positions.
"The Huawei, ZTE devices will bring unacceptable risks for (the military) personnel, information, and missions," said the ministry spokeswoman Dave Eastburn.He stated that it was "not wise" to continue selling both companies at stores run by military in US military bases around the world.
According to the spokeswoman, the sale of Huawei products was discontinued last month, and ZTE mobile phones and their related products were removed from stores at the base.
